FRANCAL FEIRAS DRIVES ECONOMY WITH ITS BUSINESS EVENTS

Francal Feiras, one of the largest business event promoters of Latin America, organized in 2013 13 trade fairs that reunited 3,000 exhibiting companies in an area of 285,000 sqm and that received over 250,000 visitors.

It also held another edition of Francal Top Design Award, which acknowledges the talent of Fashion and Design professionals and students, who will receive a scholarship in the highly regarded design school Moda Pelle Academy, in Milan. Abdala Jamil Abdala, president of Francal Feiras, analyzes that the annual balance was within the expectations. “Even facing a macroeconomic environment less favorable than in the previous years, we believe that the internal consumption heating was preserved at a level that generated the need for the retail supply. The great business expos still offer the best conditions for renewing the stocks, windows and display racks.”
International presence During the year of 2013, Francal Feiras kept its disclosure and networking strategy with business owners and international expo promoters that are related to the sectors that the company represents in Brazil. The promoter visited or participated with a stand in the footwear expos GDS (Germany), MICAM and Expo Riva Schuh (Italy); of organic products BIOFACH (Germany); of theme parks IAAPA (United States); of electronic games ENADA (Italy); and of pools Salón de Barcelona (Spain).
Professional valorization One of the differentials of the events of Francal Feiras is the performance of parallel activities that offer to visitors an experience that goes beyond business making. By means of lectures, seminars, workshops and awards, the promoter encourages the professional update, as well as it intensifies the relationship with such public. In 2013, Bio Brazil Fair, for example, held the ninth edition of the International Forum of Organic Farming with the presence of important representatives of the sector in the world, such as IFOAM, Organic Trade Association (USA), Canada Organic Trade Association and Organic Monitor.  The opening of FRANCAL footwear expo was preceded, on the immediately preceding day, by Fashion and Marketing Forum, a meeting for storekeepers with lectures on economy, marketing and fashion. Among the speakers, there were the former minister Maílson da Nóbrega, the president of Magazine Luiza, Luiza Helena Trajano, and fashion designer Walter Rodrigues. In the seminar of Office Brasil Escolar, focused on the retail of stationery stores, schools and offices, one of the speakers was professor Mario Sérgio Cortella.
Social and Environmental Responsibility Over 10 years ago, Francal Feiras carries out a consistent project of Social and Environmental Responsibility by means of Francal Cidadania. Among the many projects, the ones that receive more attention are those focused on preserving nature. In 2013, the promoter recycled 261.6 tons of solid waste. The volume corresponds to half of everything generated in all its business events. At the same time, by means of a CO2 neutralizing process, the company planted more than 3 thousand trees for compensating the 629 tCO2e (tons of equivalent Carbon Dioxide) released in such events.
2014 Calendar In 2014, Francal Feiras completes 46 years of performance in the market. Its portfolio directly contributed to the development of 15 important segments of the Brazilian economy. For the year, the calendar of events of the company expects 13 events until now (see below). The difference in relation to 2013 is the interchange between the expos that take place every two years: Expolazer (pools and leisure areas) ends and Expobor (rubber artifacts) and Pneushow-Recaufair (tires) begin. The latter holds the main innovation of 2014: UnderTruck – Hall of Equipment, Products and Services for Maintenance and Safety of Fleets, a space created to particularly meet the demand of fleet owners for solutions and equipment focused on the maintenance and safety of vehicles. The year of 2014 also brings the celebration of the 20th edition of the Fashion Design Top Francal Award. Over two decades, the award, without commercial nature, collaborates in including students, and even professionals that already act in the area, in the competitive Fashion market. In such moment, Francal, together with Moda Pelle Academy, financed scholarships in Milan for eight winners.
